Race for a Reason 2026 – Who’s up for the challenge?

Following a fantastic Race for a Reason event last year, it’s back and we’re recruiting 30 teams to take on the challenge while changing lives, over one unforgettable weekend.

Now this October, 30 teams of two are invited to sign up and take on an incredible challenge inspired by Race Across the World, but without the big budget and less miles. Saying that though, it still proved as fun and emotional for those taking part last year.

Along the way, teams will complete challenges, overcome obstacles, raise vital funds and create memories they’ll never forget. All while supporting children and young people who have lost a loved one to suicide.

There is only one Headline Sponsor.

We’re looking for a business that wants to put its name behind one of the region’s most exciting charity fundraising events and demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting children and young people affected by suicide bereavement.

If you’re business wanting to sponsor, but not put in a team, perfect we have willing race goers to do so on your behalf!

Family Sponsorship – £1,500

There’s also the chance give a family supported by Alfie’s Squad the opportunity to take part in this unforgettable experience.

Every pound raised helps Alfie’s Squad provide support, experiences and hope for children and young people living with the devastating impact of losing someone to suicide.

The event also shines a spotlight on suicide bereavement and mental wellbeing, bringing together charities, businesses and communities from across the UK to raise awareness and ensure families know they’re not alone.

From celebrity competitors to first-time fundraisers, every team found their own way to the finish line.

While former Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland and Alfie brought plenty of competitive spirit, it was Becky and Dan from Sheffield who crossed the line first, lifting the Race for a Reason trophy in honour of the friends they were racing for.
