Huge congratulations to our very own Allison Furlong, CEO and co-founder of Alfie’s Squad, who last week, proudly received the Not for Profit Award at the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAs) 2025.
The EVAs is the UK’s largest celebration of incredible women, recognising their innovation, how they are strengthening communities, and inspiring future generations.
Judges attentively listened as she spoke with passion during her interview about creating Alfie’s Squad with her son, Alfie, after his dad died by suicide. Determined that no child should face this kind of loss alone, they created a charity that offers safe spaces, peer support, and opportunities for children and young people to rebuild confidence and connection after losing a loved one to suicide.
For many families, Alfie’s Squad has become a lifeline. From group activities to peer support sessions, children and young people know they are not alone.
Speaking about her win, Allison said,
“To say I was shocked to win this award is an understatement! The children, young people and their families are the heart of Alfie’s Squad, and this recognition just gives me even more drive to keep doing what we do and continue supporting lives impacted from the loss of suicide.”
For Alfie’s Squad, this award marks another step forward in raising awareness, breaking down stigma, and supporting children and families who need it most.
We’d also like to give a special mention to Jessica Gallier-Booth for also being a finalist at the EVAs. Not only is Jessica the Founder and CEO of the suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention charity The Martin Gallier Project, but is one of our dedicated Trustees and part of one of our amazing families also supported by Alfie’s Squad.
Although Jessica didn’t bring home the award for Inspirational Woman, she gets our vote every time!
Check out all the winners from the night – congratulations!
