Alfie’s Squad has reached an incredible milestone, we are now officially a registered charity!
When we first started, our goal was simple, to provide peer support to children and families bereaved by suicide in and around Liverpool. Becoming a charity strengthens that mission, by opening up new opportunities to grow, secure funding, and reach even more young people in need.
This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible people who believe in what we do. That’s our key supporters, fundraisers, and most importantly, the families who inspire us every single day.
In 2017, Alfie was only 8 years old when he lost his dad to suicide. Struggling to access suitable support, Alfie started fundraising so others didn’t feel alone. Alfie and his mum Allison launched Alfie’s Squad in 2023, to provide children and young people aged 6-17 with peer support.
Thanks to the dedication of our supporters and partners, at the start of 2025, we have also been able to set up a new headquarters in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle and now welcome up to 50 children and young people to weekly face to face sessions.
Allison Furlong, CEO at Alfie’s Squad comments,
“As a Community Interest Company, Alfie’s Squad has already achieved so much, but becoming a registered charity will help us make an even greater impact. We continue to be amazed and thankful for the growing support that allows us to create positive experiences for families coping with the loss of a loved one to suicide.”
With our first ever fundraising dinner coming up on May 1st, we’re excited for what’s ahead, and for those generous businesses who couldn’t choose Alfie’s Squad as Charity of the Year before, well now you can! Our official charity number is 1212382!”
