Being able to talk to people who are going through, or who have gone through the same journey, has helped with our anxieties, dealing with the triggers and panic attacks.
We’ve even surprised ourselves by bringing out our artistic and creative sides. It’s given us the confidence to try new things, such as aqua park, photography, crafts and arts, ice skating, gardening, football, rock climbing, robotics and various sports. Liam’s also been lucky enough to attend a LFC game, fantastic opportunities for these young members.
The team and other parents and carers have helped with advice, guidance, awareness support about Coroners court, day to day advice, even just sounding off! Our experience has been invaluable.
On behalf of the families, thank you for being here tonight and showing your support. Unfortunately, families will continue to be affected by suicide, and with your help Alfie’s Squad can continue to grow, be accessible to all and made available in every county across the country.
I cannot thank Allison, Alfie, Andrea and the whole team for their continued support, friendliness and helping my son and myself in finding ourselves again and increasing our confidence.
It is a group no-one wishes to belong too, but we are so glad that we do.
