Approximately 9,000 children are bereaved by parental suicide every year in the UK, and we know that schools play a vital role in helping support these children.
We have produced an infographic for you to download and place in your staffroom to raise awareness of the groups being run by Alfie’s Squad and to help teachers to signpost families to the help that is available to them.
We currently work with children from over 20 schools in and around Merseyside and hold weekly support groups for them and their parents or carers which take place in Walton and Kirkby.
Being at Alfie’s Squad helps to reduce isolation and improve self-worth in the children who have suffered this trauma, and our peer support group is the only one of its kind in the UK.
